Thanks for visiting my Website

Jim Westlyn

I appreciate your taking the time to stop by.
I plan to make it worth your while.
My effort to re-design and update this website has taken a while.
During the process it has grown considerably, but a lot's going on right now.
A good place to start would be stuff that's highlighted below.
The NavBar at the top will take you everywhere else.

What's New?

In the past four or five years, I've re-discovered my nylon string/classical guitar.
The one I play - a Yamaha CN-525E - is not a traditional instrument; it's thinner in the body, has got a cutaway and a nice built-in pick up, making it so I can amplify it without losing that nylon string tone.
And I've written a bunch of arrangements, tunes from pop and jazz standards, for that style of playing.
Visit my "An Arranger" page to see the complete list of songs.

Higher Ground: For Piano and String Quartet

Inspired by the Blue Ridge Mountains

As an adult, I've found myself drawn to the mountains and I'm fortunate to be pretty close to the western part of Virginia. This piece evokes some of the sights and sounds that left an impression on me during my time there.
