In 2022, Alan, a retired healthcare executive with extensive management experience, moved to Connecticut to be closer to his family. With a career spanning senior roles in major health insurance carriers, Alan shifted to volunteer work post-retirement. He serves on the Board of the Tichenor Clinic for Children and was a volunteer exhibit presenter at the Aquarium of the Pacific. A lifelong cyclist, he joined Bike Walk Connecticut, quickly becoming Co-Chair to further its mission for safer biking and walking. Steven, V.P. of Mitchell Auto Group and lifelong multisport enthusiast, balances his automotive roots with a passion for bicycling and running. At 14, he embarked on long-distance rides with his Raleigh Chopper and Panasonic touring bike, eventually cycling across the U.S. in 1977 and from Maine to Florida recently with the East Coast Greenway tour. A Northeastern University alumnus with a Marketing degree and former ski team captain, Steven is also an instrument-rated pilot and certified cycling and ski instructor. Ernie, based in the New Haven area, has been an avid cyclist for over two decades, enjoying rides both solo and with his team, New England Brewing Team Craft Beer. With more than 30 years of experience in tax policy at the state level, he also plays an active role in state and local politics. Ernie holds a BA in Economics from the University of Connecticut and a Master\u2019s in Public Policy from Trinity College. Since 2016, Bruce has been the Southern New England Manager for the East Coast Greenway Alliance. He leads greenway advocacy in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Central Massachusetts. Previously, he spent 14 years as president of the Farmington Valley Trails Council. He was appointed Chairman of the Governor\u2019s Connecticut Greenways Council in 2014. His work earned him recognition from the Connecticut General Assembly in 2016 and Gov. Ned Lamont named June 23rd, 2023 as Bruce Donald Day for \"his enduring contributions to Connecticut\u2019s greenways and trails\". Bruce has a BA from Middlebury College and an MA from Trinity College and authored a book on Civil War history. Previously, he had a 17-year career in international finance. Amy Watkins, MPH is the program manager for Watch for Me CT, a pedestrian and bicyclist safety campaign funded by the Connecticut Department of Transportation in partnership with Connecticut Children\u2019s Injury Prevention Center. I am a lifelong cyclist. I bought my first real bicycle at the age of fourteen with money I earned from my paper route. I grew up in Simsbury and currently reside in the Broad Brook section of East Windsor. I retired in 2019 after a thirty-six-year career in sales with Frito-Lay. That summer I solo toured cross country from Astoria Oregon to Bar Harbor Maine. During the summer of 2023 I had the opportunity to cross country tour a second time following the TransAmerica Trail from Oregon to Yorktown, VA. In the past I have been a board member of the New England Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA) and a founding member of the now defunct Eastern Fat Tire Association (EFTA). From Store Manager with Eastern Mountain Sports to General Manager of Pedal Power bike shops, Brett now finds him the Owner of Loom City Cycles in Vernon. An avid mountain biker and gravel rider, Brett enjoys sharing the joy of bicycles at the shop and also with his youth mountain bike team The CCAP Cyclopaths. A long-time cyclist and outdoors enthusiast, Ingrid retired to Connecticut and a bicycle-friendly community just a few years ago. Throughout her career in major urban areas around the country, Ingrid made it a priority to live within walking or biking distance of her work, and to get outside and active as often as possible. With decades of experience as a lawyer in government, she hopes now to work to improve the safety and feasibility of bicycling and walking as ordinary daily transportation, and also to encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to use and support our Connecticut paths and trails \u2014 not just for health and exercise, but also for the simple joys they can offer.\nIngrid holds a B.S. degree from the University of California, Davis, an M.P.H. from the University of California, Berkeley, and a law degree from Yale Law School. <\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

I am a lifelong cyclist. I bought my first real bicycle at the age of fourteen with money I earned from my paper route. I grew up in Simsbury and currently reside in the Broad Brook section of East Windsor. I retired in 2019 after a thirty-six-year career in sales with Frito-Lay. That summer I solo toured cross country from Astoria Oregon to Bar Harbor Maine. During the summer of 2023 I had the opportunity to cross country tour a second time following the TransAmerica Trail from Oregon to Yorktown, VA. In the past I have been a board member of the New England Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA) and a founding member of the now defunct Eastern Fat Tire Association (EFTA).
