My name is Mike Sgarlat. I grew up in northeastern Pennsylvania in the 50s, 60s and 70s when musicians were producing some of the best music of all time. I was influenced by so many different artists I can’t count them all. I recall hunting trips with my father and riding around in the pick up truck listening to Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Charlie Pride, Hank Snow and many others whose music stuck with me. I was also influenced by artists who were writing blues and rock songs, songs about social injustice, the war in Vietnam, San Francisco flower power and Greenwich Village folk music.
